Payments, Cancellations and Refunds Policy

How charges, statutory cancellation rights and service problems are handled.

Effective date: 8 September 2026  |  Version: Draft 1.0

Launch draft — not yet final

This is a practical first draft, not a substitute for advice from a solicitor. Fields marked like this are placeholders still to be confirmed — in particular, no payment processing exists on PrepPath yet (see Pricing), so this policy cannot go live until it does.

1. Payment and access

PrepPath is currently intended to be sold as a one-off purchase for a clearly stated period of digital access. The checkout will show the total price, any taxes, access period and main restrictions before the customer commits to pay.

Payments are processed by Stripe. Paid access lasts [ACCESS PERIOD] and does not renew automatically.

PrepPath does not store full debit or credit card details — these are handled directly by Stripe. Stripe’s own terms and privacy information also apply to its processing.

2. Your 14-day cancellation right

A UK consumer normally has 14 days from the day after the contract is made to cancel a distance contract without giving a reason. Special rules apply where digital content is supplied immediately.

If you ask for immediate access during the 14-day period, we will ask you to give express consent to supply starting immediately and to acknowledge that you lose the statutory right to cancel once supply of the digital content begins. If the legally required consent and acknowledgement are not obtained, your statutory cancellation rights remain unaffected.

Checkout wording to implement

Unticked checkbox: “I expressly consent to PrepPath supplying the digital content immediately and acknowledge that, once supply begins, I lose my 14-day right to cancel.” Keep evidence of the choice and include it in the order confirmation.

3. How to cancel

To exercise a cancellation right, email hello@preppath.co.uk with the account email, order reference and a clear statement that you wish to cancel. You may use the model form below, but you do not have to.

4. Refunds for faults or misdescription

Your statutory rights apply if the service is faulty, unavailable in breach of contract, not as described or we do not have the right to supply it. Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, remedies may include repair or replacement, a price reduction or a refund. We will not use this policy to limit those rights.

5. Our additional refund approach

Even where there is no statutory change-of-mind right, we will review requests fairly. We would normally refund a duplicate charge or an order we did not accept. We may offer a full or proportionate refund where a serious technical problem attributable to PrepPath prevents meaningful paid use and we cannot remedy it within a reasonable time.

We will not normally refund because a learner did not achieve a hoped-for score or school place, because the customer changed their mind after immediate supply began with valid consent and acknowledgement, or because of a device/internet issue outside PrepPath. This does not affect statutory rights.

6. Refund timing

Approved refunds will be sent to the original payment method without undue delay and within any deadline required by law. Banks and payment providers may take additional time to display the credit.
