Beyond the score
A test score tells you how they did. It doesn't always tell you why.
The app looks beyond the overall result, breaking performance down by subject, topic and skill to give you a much clearer picture of where your child is doing well and where they may need more support.
Follow their overall progress across Maths and English and see how performance develops as they complete more practice.
See which topics and skills are causing difficulty instead of trying to work it out from individual papers and scores.
Progress isn't only about finding mistakes. See the areas where your child is performing consistently well too.
Focus Areas
Every answer contributes to a clearer picture of your child's performance. When repeated difficulty begins to appear within a particular skill or topic, Focus Areas help bring it to your attention.
That means the next practice session can have a purpose.

Focus Areas
Guided practice
Identifying a weaker area is only useful if you can do something about it. Focus Areas connect directly with targeted practice, allowing your child to work specifically on the skills that need more attention rather than repeatedly practising things they already know.
Focus Areas surface the specific topic or skill that needs attention.
Targeted practice on exactly that skill, not a repeat of what's already known.
See the same topic move from needing focus to a strength over time.
As your child improves, their Focus Areas can change too — keeping practice relevant as they progress.
Ask Tutor
Ask Tutor gives your child a choice. They can work through progressive hints, try the question again or view a fuller explanation when they need it. It helps turn a difficult question into an opportunity to understand the method they can use next time.
Ask for help: Support is available without leaving the question.
Start with a hint: The child receives a useful prompt rather than the answer.
Build the reasoning: Further hints help them approach the problem in stages.
Understand the method: A complete explanation shows how the answer can be worked out.
Instead of only revealing the correct option, PrepPath can guide your child through the reasoning and explain how it applies to the question in front of them.
Progress over time
One good paper doesn't mean everything is mastered. One difficult paper doesn't mean they're going backwards either. That's why the app looks at performance over time — rather than judging progress from a single result, you can see how your child is developing across repeated practice and full papers.
See the bigger picture across their preparation.
Understand how they're performing in each subject.
See where individual skills are improving or need more attention.
See the work they've completed and review previous results.
Common questions
There isn't one amount that's right for every child. Short, focused and regular practice can often be more useful than long sessions completed simply for the sake of doing more questions. The app is designed to make it easier to give each practice session a purpose.
Practice needs to challenge children appropriately if it's going to prepare them for the real test. Our aim is to provide questions that reflect the skills, reasoning and level of challenge children need to become comfortable with during Transfer Test preparation.
It doesn't have to. The app can be used on its own or alongside books, school work or tuition. Its particular strength is helping you understand what your child needs to work on next, so the preparation they're already doing can become more focused.
No — that's one of the problems we're trying to solve. Scores, topic performance, Focus Areas and progress information are designed to turn your child's practice into information that's straightforward for a parent to understand.
Being upfront
We think parents deserve straightforward information about what they're buying.
This is an independent preparation platform. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by CCEA or the SEAG consortium, and our practice questions are not official SEAG questions.
No app, tutor or set of practice papers can guarantee an outcome. What we can do is provide purposeful practice, useful feedback and a clearer way to identify the areas where your child may benefit from more work.
See how they're progressing. Understand what needs work. Give their practice more purpose.
